Adidas Superstar

The adidas Originals Superstar shoe was first released in 1969 and was the first low-top leather basketball trainer to be made.
The shoe soon adopted the nicknames "shelltoe" or "shell shoes" because of its rubber shell toe piece. The adidas Supertar's iconic design has earned the shoe a reputation of being one of the major influences in the trainer culture.

The styling and chunky fit of the adidas Superstar was soon adopted by icons of the hip-hop scene. The strong endorsement of the shoe by rap group Run-DMC helped the shoe reach its own individual iconic status.

The adidas Originals Superstar shoes popularity has continued to grow and develop into other scenes, such as the skateboarding community in the early and mid-1990s and continues to grow to this day.
